What ages do you accept?

Opus Daycare provides licensed infant and toddler care for children under 3.

Where are your daycare locations and hours?

Our Nelson location is in South Burnaby and operates from 8:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Our Brentwood location operates from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Are meals and snacks provided?

Healthy snacks are included at both locations. Fresh lunch is included at Brentwood and available as an optional lunch program at Nelson.

Do families pay the regular monthly fee during gradual entry?

Yes. Tuition remains the same because your child’s full-time space is reserved throughout gradual entry. The reduced hours help your child adjust comfortably to the new environment.

What happens if my child has difficulty adjusting?

Most children adjust with consistent attendance and support from their family and educators. Frequent absences can make the transition more difficult. If a child continues to experience significant distress, we will meet with the family to discuss appropriate next steps. Families choosing to withdraw must follow the required 45-day written-notice policy.

What happens if I am late for pickup?

There is no charge for the first late pickup. Beginning with the second occurrence, a late fee of $5 applies for every five-minute interval.

Can a 12-month-old have two naps? Can I ask that my child be awakened early?

Children generally follow the group nap schedule. A younger child who still needs a short morning nap may be accommodated when possible. Nap arrangements are based on the child’s needs and the daycare’s daily routine; we do not routinely wake children after a parent-selected amount of time.
